I tend to agree BUT I do like the mono appearance of those rear units No Longer the owner of a 2013MY Fuji White GS

I don’t like the light set up when the lights are on. But it does look pretty smart with no coloured lenses. Very different indeed.

Quite fancied these as I thought it'd go well with the "Black Pack" look Ive got going on my FL2
But £280 per set is a huge price to justify.

So switched my brain into gear and created my own version.......

My originals

My new ones

..... and it didn't cost me a penny!! Wink

I had some gloss black vehicle vinyl leftovers, so wrapped the red bits in black.
Had to leave a bottom window in red as that's the fog lights, but I created a grill in the same vein as the most recent D4 black lights, and that certainly narrows down and darkens the red (but doesn't take away from the brightness).

Works for me. Thumbs Up FL2 now gone and have a couple of items left for sale:-

Of course I did, I even told my insurers. Rolling Eyes

I'd even do that if I happened to invest in some internal black blinds, especially if they went over my tinted windows. Wink

Scotland 2014 Freelander 2 TD4_e Dynamic Manual Fuji White

Looks good Ron I done something a bit similar on my FL1 but I painted them. The grill slats do look very neat indeed did it take a while to do Whistle do you have any full back shots? I think it takes a few years off your car easily Thumbs Up

Here’s an old photo of mine. Think the car was only a day old and I played about on the pc seeing what the lights would look like toned down. I didn’t know what you use to make a perfect circle around the grill hob rings Laughing

FL1 the lamp guards blend right in with the painted lenses

re:- Freelander 1 photo above.

There was a trend years ago to 'blacken' the rear pillar lamps ............. what owners didn't realise was they had effectively removed their rear reflector, a legal requirement on all vehicles.

One company even produced a 'bling' stainless lamp guard which completely covered the rear pillar lamp ...... only showing the two circular portions ......NO reflector !!

Laugh & quote all you like, i can see it's not to your taste but it certainly works for me.

So who's the real guy to roll around the floor laughing at ... the one who pays out £280, or those that create something similar and costs £0 ? FL2 now gone and have a couple of items left for sale:-
