Locked Out. Dead Battery? HELP

Good morning.

I've run a search and can't find my specific fault to hoping someone might be able to help.

After a 200 mile trip yesterday in my 2011 FR2 I parked the car on my drive as usual and locked the car.

This morning, the key fob(s) wouldn't unlock the car. I opened the passenger door manually and everything is dead. The ignition won't even accept the key.

The battery is only 4 months old and I'm wondering if for some reason it;s discharged itself or if the fault is more serious. The only variable here is that I was on the phones bluetooth when I got home yesterday and continued the call after the engine had been shut off. I've done this before without a problem as everything boots down after the key is ejected.

If anyone can help, I'd truly appreciate it. Kev

Bluetooth system not shutting down properly has been suspected of causing problems in the past.

Using the mechanical lock should have triggered the alarm, so if that didn't happen it suggests that the battery is completely flat. So, first thing to try is charging the battery or jumping the car.

Thanks Pab, I appreciate the knowledge! I'll get the battery on charge and hopefully that will fix it. I do leave the dash cam plugged into the rear 12v socked with the screen off but again, this has never caused an issue in the past!

been completely dead sounds bad, normally it will have had enough juice to sound the alarm (does the alarm have a battery back up, i can't remember)

Check the battery terminal and that they are connected also

but finishing a call on the phone, does have a issues with battery drain if you turn the engine off, the bluetooth doesn't shut down Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Yes completely dead which surprised me. The battery dies 4 months ago but i could still unlock etc. AA are en route so i'll see if they can diagnose a fault. I'll check the battery terminals now and update...

AA have been. The battery was down to 3v so it had completely drained. He said it would have been the bluetooth and advised I take it to LR for a software upgrade.

Thanks all.
