First time I have posted pic so hope it works.
If you can see the pic it is my new semi off-road van behind the Freelander, we need the beefed up suspension to cope with our appalling roads, 1580 kg tare and around 1800kgs fully loaded the Freelander pulls it with ease.

Proper upgrade to FL2 TD4 GS 60 reg Facelift - tailgate paint issues, fuel gauge rewire, transfer box failure at 36k miles, clutch at 60k
Reconditioned diff at 70k ish
Sold at 84k and now on a DS. Terribly unreliable.
Sold DS for a 2021 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV. Fingers crossed....

I don't think it's nodded or modded, just an Oz bog standard bush caravan. UK vans are OK for town and highway use, which just isn't caravanning in Oz Very Happy my PC is slightly to the right of Genghis
2012 HSE SD4 In Orkney Grey now gone, best car ever.

Dartman, your right bog standard van. Most of the good camping areas away from major towns are located on bush tracks that require a higher van with beefed up suspension to cope with potholes creek crossings and corrugated dirt roads. These vans are to some degree self contained with larger water tanks and solar power, we can go off road for a week with no problems. Most have internal and external kitchen facilities the two hatches at the front of mine hold a roll-out stove and sink and a small fridge (beer fridge) you can also see the roll out awning that covers the area over the external kitchen. Darwin theory of caravanning IE the vans have evolved to suit there environment. And yes there is an internal toilet and shower.
As for that video what they don't show is the other 4 support vehicles that were required to keep that van and 4x4 operational, must be something awfully good at the end of that track.

The Gall Boys have been building Kedron off road vans for years. They are really built solid to take whatever comes at them. If you've ever done a 300-400km stint on corrugated roads you will know what I mean. Lots of vans literally get shaken apart. Those videos are over the top demos of just how tough they are for advertising purposes. They really draw a crowd at the 4wd camping & caravan shows when those videos are shown. A nice little side income selling the dvds as well. Nice looking van mate.

Mike, those Kedron vans are the real deal in off-road toughness but I seriously would not like to go there, imagine how many axles they would break on the Toyo if that was there average Sunday drive. The picture of my van is at Polblue camp site in the Barrington Tops National Park 1500 meters up, I was really impressed with how easy the Freelander pulled it up that hill, really showed me the advantage of a 6 speed auto box when towing, seems to have a gear for all occasions.
