Twin axle Alko secure jacking

How do those with the twin axles and secure locks go about jacking the caravan up?

I use a trolly jack, as I can't use the purpose made ones due to the motor movers

But I have issues occasional of the jack sinking in to soft grass

Thinking a piece of chequer plate or thin stainless steel to spread the weight Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

My Alko jacking point is fitted behind the rear wheels and the mover is on the front wheels.

I jack mine up with ease on the jacking point to fit the wheel locks. 3 times I have been lucky enough to reverse the van in the parking pound and both locks have lined up 100%

You could try an air bag that goes on the exhaust of the car ! Thumbs Up Jaguar x-type sport gone

Four movers so all jacking points blocked Sad

Airbag jack good idea but were would it be placed as I would not want to jack up on the caravan base

Just need something to prevent the jack sinking it bin one lock and get one of those orange ones that slot through Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

If you have the multi mover, fit the rear Alko lock, then jack up the jockey wheel as high as you can go to lift the front wheel and use the front mover to force the wheel round if your parked on loose ground. Jaguar x-type sport gone

There is one possible solution but it will depend on you insurer's acceptance.
I have just purchased a Purpleline Excaliber wheel lock having got totally fed-up with the Alko lock.
You can use it with either the Alko receiver or with its own separate backplate. Although mine is used on a single axle, my thought was that on a twin axle you could line-up and use the Alko lock on one wheel and the Excalibur on the second wheel with its flexible positioning and no need for alignment.
My insurer (Safeguard) treats the Alko and Excaliber equally with the same discount.
Hope this may be helpful,
Steve

I'm with Caravan Guard, they will only insure me if I use the Alko Wheel Lock, but don't mind what I use as the Hitch Lock as long as it is a reputable one. To be honest though I don't have a problem with the Alko one, but can imagine it's a pain on a TA.

It's not a pain it's straight forward unless the trolly jack sinks into the soft ground Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis
