Gambba some aspects of modern Mercedes maybe a bit disappointing but the engine and auto box on my dads car are truly impressive,he bought it new two years ago and its never let him down yet Thumbs Up
There is no doubt its no sports car but it is a fine cruiser

Norway 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Manual Stornoway Grey

The new MB GLK looks like an “off road hearse” to me, but I guess MB-owners need an alternative to go off-asphalt with Yawn Although the interior is as usual very MB premium, the rest of it looks as uninspiring as the 4x4 Audi's and VW’s to me.

Glad I choose LR this time, but I will only be looking at BMW next time, before I decide what the next drive will be Thumbs Up

I also had an Audi A3 2.0tdi Quattro S line and really did like it, however out of all the cars I have had, I have to say the Freelander 2 is the best car I have had, I LOVE IT!
Take something really special to get me out of it, LRX maybe in about 3 years time?

I too am ex-A3 (2.0 TDi SE 3dr) driver. Needed more space for family although must admit Embarassed that still miss aspects of A3 ( Heated seats had 5 settings, parkability, fuel economy 45mpg compared to my now 31 ! oh and C band VED)

Still air con is easier, sat nav is useful and you cant see my ugly kids from the outside! Laughing

My A3 didn't have heated seats so something new on Freelander, on the Quattro only averaged 39mpg and get about 32mpg now don't think a loss of 7mpg is bad for the size of the car.
I have to admit I find the Freelander easier to park, (especially reverse) than the A3 3dr as the visibility is much better.
Yeah, the tax is more but not a lot and goes up again next year, but still won't be changing! Very Happy

Shocked Would hardly think you need heated seats with 5 settings in the UK Shocked However in winter Norway it might help if #5 setting was "hot toasted bun" temperature Rolling with laughter

I would rather have 2 hot setting and 2 cold setting

It was a nice feature in a Lexus i took for a test drive a couple of years ago kept the family jewels nice and cool Laughing

I'm actually waiting for the sportback ( I call it the mini Avant) here in the US as we can now get the 2.0T with Quattro and Stronic. MY09 - dealer said he expected to have one to test tomorrow... Cool

My main problem is that here the seat heaters seem to be stuck on setting 3 (Hot cross bum setting), even though I don't have seat heaters, and the whole interior appears to be heated too! Rolling with laughter
