Coolant Temperature

I measured the coolant temperature after a 5 mile run on my wifes Freelander 2 using the data from the OBD2 socket and my Torque Pro App. It registered as 81 deg.C which seemed a little low to me, the temp guage was sat at exactly midway. Has anyone recorded their engine temperature and found similar or higher results

No, but the FL2 coolant gauge doesn't work like the old analogue ones always on the move as soon as there is a change, the FL2 goes up and down in steps and will only move at predetermined figures. That's why it is deep seated all the time in the centre position.
The cooling stat starts to open at 83 degrees and is fully open at 91 degrees, so allowing for some overlap it looks OK.
