Freelander 2 losses power but then recovers

2008 Freelander 2 2.2 TD4
Been having a problem recently with the engine losing power.
Symptoms:-
If cruising at ¾ throttle the car is fine until I put my foot to the floor on inclines or to overtake the car dies until I take my foot off of the accelerator then it will pick up again I can feather the throttle to keep the boost on but If I demand full throttle the car dies.
The Turbo boost shows 22.5 psi on full chat and then dies to around 5 psi until I go back to ¾ throttle.
I have used Torque android app to read the ECU No fault codes are showing.

If I drive the car hard through the gears the car will accelerate all the way up to and beyond the speed limit with no hesitations and will keep going until I run out of road.

I have changed the fuel filter, checked the turbo waste gate which operates freely by hand.

Any suggestions would be appreciated as I'm at a loss don't you just love modern cars!

Ive changed:
Throttle body
Manifold presuure sensor
Air temp sensor
Fuel filter
Accelorator pedal
Had turbo actuator tested no faults
Made sure actuator arm and veins move freely and lubed.
Problem still exists

Im thinking could be:
In tank fuel pump
Fuel rail pressure sensor
Stop light switch (apparently the ecm monitors this)

If I unplug the maf will the car still run using a pre-set values?

My old mk1 freelander would.

Cheers

All that 'round' has done is pretty much the logical route to go with the absence of fault codes.

From reading your post - you haven't changed your MAF sensor and I have known of these being faulty and not throwing a code. I would also suggest you get live data to rule out the fuel rail sensor but I'm no expert there so can't tell you what readings you should actually be seeing?? 09 FL2 GS TD4e Current

My mechanic specialists in LR and his neighbours FL2 had the same problem and it was the Fuel rail they replaced, no problems since but they also had to replace everything like you before finding it.

I put some injector cleaner in mine 9 days ago, it hasn't misfired since but doesn't mean it won't.. i'm waiting for it. FL2 GS

I soaked maf in brake cleaner and flushed out the intercooler which produced alot of crap.
Problem still exists
Will try new maf and egr next

Ok so I blanked off egr no change.
I cleaned maf no change
I unplugged maf and fault goes away but I have noticed that without the maf plugged in it stops the egr from working too so I suspect it’s still either the maf or egr or maf wiring.
I will look at getting egr mapped out to elimate that and then try a new maf.

Years ago I had a high mileage Opel Manta GTE - I started to get sudden transient loss of power when accelerating (like onto a roundabout). A single flush of Wynns Injector Cleaner solved the problem for over a year before I sold it on. Jules
