United Kingdom 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 SE Manual Zermatt Silver
Rear Screen Entertainment

FYI, an interesting feature on the rear screen entertainment in Freelander 2, is that there is no inbuilt DVD player etc. as part of this system, there is only a connection port, so that you can play from your own media (portable DVD/ MP3) through the 2 screens in the back of the headrests.
I believe that the reasoning behind this, is that due to the upward rise in mp3 technology, Land Rover believe DVD to be a rapidly outdating feature.
Anyones thoughts on this?

This sounds like a really sensible idea. I have an Archos portable digital video recorder which I was going to buy some 8" screens for to go onto the headrests in a similar sort of way. With the increase in technology and the decreasing prices, stuff like blu-ray will soon be out and acheivable for more people - by having a more open system at least it a little futureproofed.
