Apple 6S Phone - music via bluetooth and Alpine Stereo

I have a Freelander GS 2011 with the Alpine stereo system, I can connect my Apple 6S phone via Bluetooth but wondered if I can play music from the phone as well through the stereo in the car.

Afraid I cant help you much.

Using iphone I can play music via bluetooth on our 2013 model.

I cannot on the 2008 model (only phone). I plug the phone into the auxiliary connection and can then control the phone via the steering wheel controls.

If there is some other way I would be very keen to hear about it. Smile Freelander 2 SE 2008

if your car is not a facelift (i.e updated interior and bumpers) version then no, the bluetooth is just the phone, to play music its a AUX lead and the headphone socket Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Thanks For help but it does look like mine is not the facelift model as I do not have the auxillary plug for head phones.

you should have the AUX socket on the centre console towards the back seats, small round hole

get a 3.5mm double jacked lead and plug one end in this, one in the headphone socket of the iphone

i did it that way for years, before swapping cars Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

The 2011 facelift also does not allow music over Bluetooth. I have a MY2011 GS facelift and Bluetooth is for voice only. Don't think audio over bt was introduced until about 2013...

To make the use of the aux in a little bit nicer I bought one of these

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Griffin-AutoPilot-...B0010XBHYO

Not available from Amazon at the moment but easy enough to find I imagine.

It uses its own amp instead of the iPhones which sounds better and also charges the iphone AND gives you control over the tracks - back, forward, play and pause. Quite useful.

I believe a lightening adapter can be used so would work with your phone.
