Drivers side electric window fault

Here is a weird problem.
Twice now the drivers electric window has suddenly stopped working and remained closed, whilst all the other windows worked normally. The problem resolved when I opened and closed the tail gate. The first time the tailgate was not properly shut but the 2nd time it appeared to be properly closed. I cant explain this nor replicate the fault.
Does the electric window and the tailgate share an electrical pathway that is not shared with the other windows (On the Skoda Fabia VRs, a well known condition was that if the brake peddle light switch failed then the wipers stopped)? Or could it simply be that the vibration caused by shutting the tailgate makes good a dodgey connection ?

Its a 61 plate TD4 GS

Any thoughts ? Jules

Never had the battery disconnected. All windows working OK now - will just have to wait and see I think. Jules
