United Kingdom 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 SE Manual Santorini Black

She's now in the garage - he's going to strip out the offending clutch today and has ordered the parts mentioned above:

Flywheel, Clutch kit and also mentioned some cylinder or two - all sounds about right. Still says it's a massive effort to get at the clutch and I should have it back by Wednesday which is good.

I'm still worried about her but after driving round in a 20 year old Ford Fiesta, I can't wait to get her back!!!

Latest update - still in the garage in a million pieces according to my man! Reckons that the fix we planned might be too much for the one remaining (original) cylinder which is also showing signs of age, now that needs to be replaced too.

Also says the transmission is leaking oil and so that need to be fixed whilst the guts are out - agree to all as this sounded sensible rather than open her back up again at a later date.

Does that sound reasonable - def don't want any other suprises - can't wait for the bill esp. this close to Christmas!!! It's not as though I had anything else I'd like to spend my money on eh?

drives like a new car! never realised how nice and smooth the clutch could be on her!!!

Very happy despite the price!

HOWEVER, turns out I now need new front discs and pads! Any point in the Brembos or with the bog standard ones on Advanced Factors do?

Sounds a good deal to me. I had a clutch, pressure plate and slave cylinder replaced last year by a good indie and the bill came to £690. They said that the DMF was OK (saved me about £400). This included 6 hours work. I wonder if your cash in hand job saved the vat?

could well be - he's a mate from the pub / rugby club too and I've always pointed folk in his direction so I think he's been returning the favour a bit!

Brakes are on the New Year list due to impending Christmas expense!!!
