Agree with the parts, are you aware that you won't be able to legally have the different axle load?

The specifications for some reason state the rear axle load of the 5 seat version is less than the 7 seat version by about 60Kg I think. Those that do load up may consider this anomaly. my PC is slightly to the right of Genghis

That may be true Dartman, but hardly much comfort for someone who has paid 」32,000 or a lot more, and then to have to buy a conversion kit from a 3rd party supplier and throw away some unwanted expensive seats, just to get a model most other markets will get as a standard model!

I can see no logic in LR not providing a 5 seater option in the UK, once they announce their range more completely.

I agree, there is no benefit of removing seats 6 and 7 and you won't gain any more boot space due to the overall design. Freelander 2 HSE Lux 2013MY - Barolo Black with Ivory Leather. Alpine DVD - Privacy -Evoque 20" Dynamic Wheels and more to come.........

I haven't seen a 5 seat car, but when you look at the bare bodyshell, and the way the third row of seats are mounted I can't see any benefit in boot space by not having the seats there.

They fold flat and in effect create the boot floor when not in use. So they don't take up much room when folded flat. So when not in use, you have a normal five seat car.

Obviously I don't know dimension wise but it does not look enough that if they were not there, there would be a deeper boot.

You may find that the only reason a 5 seater may be on the cards is for certain markets where 7 seat cars command higher tax bands.

I can't see what disadvantage having the option of a third row of seats is. It doesn't take up anymore boot space. I have sat in a DS on the third row and there is plenty oh head and leg room, and I am 6ft. Freelander 2 HSE Lux 2013MY - Barolo Black with Ivory Leather. I was considering that the thickness of the upholstered seat would if removed allow the additional height of a full size spare, seems that there is a fair bit of padding available for allowing that extra room and the boot floor could be 10-15mm thick, or maybe the boot floor seat cover is strong enough and the seat removal would allow another 200mm of depth over the temporary spare. Until I drive into the Glasgow area where the dealer is ( neither branches are on the shopping route) I am relying on published photos. Regarding tax bands, certain Scandinavian countries would find the 7 seats almost doubling the price over their normal habit of removing the normal second row seats to reduce the price. Removing the +2 seats in a Porche 911 and fitting a blanking board is fairly common. my PC is slightly to the right of Genghis

Followed this up the Fosse Way from Gaydon towards Southam (for the benefit of the picky one)tonight....lights on the back look impressive when lit up, first one I've seen on the road albeit a VK plate (prototype/press fleet)

Apologies for the poor quality, it's an iPhone and it was dark.

On the cars I looked at, there would be minimum storage space if the seats weren't there. You could probably keep tow ropes, torches, hiviz vest, jacket etc but the car has been designed to have the spare underneath both in 5 seat and 7 seat formats. So I'm told I have no way to confirm if true.

Those that want a spare make sure you get it at the factory as cars without have a different exhaust system. 21MY Defender 90 S 3.0 D200

Being picky I know but the Fosse doesn't go from Southam to Gaydon. The B4451 does though.

Actually, I lied about the iPhone. It was in fact an Android device, with Digital SLR qualities, as the iPhone was clamped to my ear as I was earnestly talking to my Logistics Manager, steering with my knees, whilst simultaneously drinking a beer and rolling a joint. Multi-talented or what? Very Happy

It most certainly does - well spotted. Perhaps you can bring some of that Werkstat Mud Enhancer with you in February, whilst I milk the cow? Should take around the same period of time.... Smile

That is very interesting news there MAV....always thought there was a market there. Going forward I think I'd be looking as something a tad smaller that Disco DS if only as it is too tight a fit in my garage.
