I didn't even realise there was a limit for them, most these days are doing way more than 25mph up an down the lanes round these parts.

So with a combined weight they can now run at 31 tonnes, whilst companies with anything bigger than a Transit Van require Tacographs and Operators Licence along with drivers having to have a DCPC.

I can remember when the first JCB "Fastrac" was being tested in Uttoxeter, one nearly wiped me out on a roundabout as I just thought it was a normal tractor and I would have plenty of time to get on to the roundabout in front of it.
No so as it was doing 25mph+.
Also remember tales of some unscrupulous operators hitching trailers loaded with containers on to them and telling the drivers "take that to London and be back here tonight" which was at the time legal as the Fastrac could hold a steady 50 mph which is above the motorway minimum of 40 mph and this is the bad bit did not have a tackograph as it is an "agricultural vehicle".
Have to say though it is a great bit of kit for the agricultural and construction industry's.

PS Just noticed on the website that JCB do factory tours at a considerably lower price than JLR Cost £14.00 or £20.00 with a cooked breakfast. Anybody interested? Life Honorary Member of Wallasey Motor Club.
