Fuel gauge doesn't go to full?

Hi does any one else find their fuel gauge hovers below the FULL level even when filling to the brim?
Try as I might the needle is always 3 or 4mm under the FULL line? - FL2 3.2 i6 - There is no Replacement for Displacement

Easy fix? Is it a bolt in part or fuel tank off job. If easy I will do it otherwise warranty claim will be pending

Mine wouldn't go up past a half for a while, fixed under warranty. Now it's empty when on a quarter full and no warranty left so I just live with it... Big Cry

Not an easy job, the fuel tank is a Saddle Type, two gauges, one in each Saddle, prop shaft off, that's the easy bit, search is a good bet, but if you have warranty use it Thumbs Up

Hadn't realised it was such a common problem until searching threads on the forum

Will be dropping it in to Bury LR and letting Warranty Wise pick up the tab

starting the car this morning the gauge was practically touching full so may have sorted itself out?

After reading all the posts, most seem to be the erratic fuel gauge reading and showing 1/2 full when really full and engine cutting out when the "range" reaches zero
.
Is mine just the start of the problem or something different I wonder?

Incidentally today the car failed to start on 3 or 4 occasions after parking up, sitting in car for 5 mins and trying to restart

Starter motor fine, battery fine, but engine didn't catch, just as if no spark or fuel starvation (petrol engine i6)
Retried after removing key and it fired up no problem on the button

When I bought the car on first fill there was a large vacuum in the fuel tank as I took the cap off, I have since removed the vapour release valve in the cap to prevent further vacuum as the first non ignition start I believed maybe the vacuum pressure was causing the petrol to be pulled back to the tank causing starvation. Probably just another well documented fault and not linked to the intermittent starting problem?

I have fitted earth strap to starter today but not used the car since, and a bit more forum research is steering me to a possible software upgrade for LTB00093 bulletin?

Whilst I enjoy fixing and playing, every day is taking the p Censored ss,

Better start making a list with suggested solutions for LR me thinks!

I've only had mine since November. . When I first got my car I spent hours on this forum, if they turned around tomorrow and said it will go to yearly subscription I would be the first to pay, looks like my freel2.com sticker on my back window is fine for now Very Happy I6 WITH GAS CONVERSION

Totally agree, its an addictive informative forum, after a year or so on the D3 forum and enjoying the banter and company and camping/green laning with the great individuals on there, Im sure the FL2 fold will be just as amazing!
Looking forward to sharing, using and participating for the years ahead, at least until I can afford a D4! - FL2 3.2 i6 - There is no Replacement for Displacement

I brimmed mine for the first time yesterday and the needle was about 4 mm above the full mark. I had issues with my fuel gauge dropping to zero. This was fixed by replacing the wiring to the senders, there is a LR technical bulletin about it that the mechanic showed me. Black MY2013 SD4 GS Auto, Wood Company Armrest, Freel2 sticker.
