England 2015 Freelander 2 TD4 SE Manual Orkney Grey
Hello

Hi there. We collect our SE Tech TD4 in Orkney grey on 1st Sept. and I've opted for one from the network as this colour can not be ordered now. It is the spec we want apart from the spare wheel but for £180 I'm not complaining. Especially when the dealer told us it was a full size alloy! To buy one separately would set us back approx. £600! Is it really the same wheel as what's on the car? Thanks in advance...

Hi we're picking our SE tech td4 on 6th September, the full size spare is one option I wanted and couldn't get so now on the look out for one. Instead I have the instant mobility kit.

Thanks for the replies. Also, does anyone know if the SE Tech has armrests in the front? I know they are fitted if you choose electric seats but thought I'd read somewhere that they are standard on this model?

Its not always the same alloy, my wifes uncle got a full size black steel wheel with his my13. Mine came with the full size alloy spare though.

I think , from memory, quite a few people ordered a "full size spare" and were surprised that it came as a full size alloy and not a steel wheel. It all depends on the wording but I don't think the important word 'alloy' is stated, I may be wrong though.
Mine, now has the instant mobility system, Laughing who dreamt that one up.

I imagine a serious puncture would go like this...

Spend ten minutes faffing with the compressor and foam
Spray foam into tyre and watch it leak out everywhere
Ring LRA and ask to be taken home Laughing

Mmmm yes . I had a puncture last week. Fortunately I noticed it when I got to work, which is 5 mins walk from my lr dealer. Drove it round ( there was still a bit of air in it). Left it with them for the day and was fixed by end of day -£25 for puncture repair and they washed and valeted the car as well. Pretty good. First service this week - so that will be dearer!

Thanks again for your inputs. I'm hopefully looking at the car this week if they've got it in so will check. Good news about the armrests and fingers crossed for the spare alloy. The salesman did say, if I didn't want the spare, he'd take it out for their stock and put me a mobility system in. Can see why now!

The 13 MY price list shows only alloy spare wheels for 17", 18" and 19", there is no steel option.

My original 07 MY came with a full size steel spare but that was limited to 80kph/50mph. GONE - '07 TD4 GS manual Zermatt Silver

Did he purchase the car from new? If not the previous owner or the dealers if a demo vehicle could easily have swapped it!

I would get a copy of the "vehicles inquiries - display details" form! Any LR dealer will be able to provide this for you and it shows what the car had when it left the factory! As others have stated I would be extremely surprised if the form actually says steel spare Rolling Eyes MY14 Kahn Converted Dynamic - Fuji White Ebony/Pimento Interior
