Hi from ronp

Hi to all that know me and especially Hi to all other Freel2 forum members that don't.
I was a 10.6k post contributor from the Disco3 & 4 forums having previously owned a D3 & a D4 from 2005 to 2013.
However due to the effect of the economic downturn on my business I reluctantly sold on my Fuji Landmark and have been trapped in a eurobox estate car for the last year. Sad
But I've just traded in my car and will back in a Land Rover from Sunday, it's a Freelander2 this time (to keep running costs under control.)
However, that won't stop the mods and I'd be grateful if you can point me in the right direction.

The first thing I need are roof rails and cross bars plus F&R light guards.
So where is the best place to get LR parts ?
(it was TLO in the past, is he still the man, I also see Duckworths are sponsoring the site.)

Bigger wheels & LTZ tyres, will be next on the list, so I'll ask questions on these in the wheel section.

Many thanks Thumbs Up

Hi Ron Thumbs Up

the large one has retired now to grow his chillis business, though the teams have kept up the good work so I hear

Dan at Duckworths looks after us as well, and is very helpful and advance factors are doing a good job too, between them all, I'm sure you will be looked after

Good to hear/ see a voice I know ...... and a boss over here too!
I'll need to keep myself in check then Laughing

Thanks for info on Nick, trust he's happier and less pressurised now he's away from us lot.

Just had look in your gallery, nice Freelander.
Like the black wheels, vents etc.
Is that side tubes or sliders you've got - will be looking for something to fill in the sill area.

I was playing about last week trying to decide what colour to go for a refurb, still not sure yet Laughing

The side tubes are standard LR ones, on poxy brackets that bend at the first bump,

I've not off-roaded this one, but have a second set of tubes which crushed themselves when I went over a bump at Tong on my old FL2

If your planing to off road I would see if there are stronger ones out there to be honest, they do however protect the lower sills Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Yeah, had that with my java D3 at Tong, got the tubes bent underneath.
BUT, that saved my sills, so did a job.

Thanks Martin
Yes, just hated being in anything but a Land Rover, so it's good to be back.
Was like a part of my life was missing .... sad I know!

Really looking forward to starting the obligatory modding process.
Already got my pot of funds allocated for many of the bits to start off with. Rolling Eyes
Will get a thread posted when I pick it up.

Just got a GS spec, it's a Dec 10 model but it's only got 13k on the clock and condition wise is 'as new'.
Got a fantastic price on it too as well as a good trade-in on the tin box..
That allows me to spend a few £grand putting my 'special' touches to it..... the cash tills are already ringing. Laughing

Well here it is, picked it up today.
Don't say it's nice cos it's not ... it's just too plain for me as it is!!
Already got around £2.5k spent/targetted to modify it.
Will post up another thread on it's progress.
