United Kingdom 2013 Freelander 2 SD4 HSE Lux Auto Barolo Black

Hi - just introducing myself

I've owned a 2013 FL2 SD4 from new and really enjoyed it, particularly a full day off road Landrover adventure (including crossing a river 3 time). I plan to do the 'intermediate level' off road adventure on Exmoor next year as well Smile)

I've had an extra engine oil flush and filter change every 6 months since new to help increase engine life (as i expect to keep the LR a long time) and now that the LR is out of warranty have found this forum really useful regarding what preventative maintenance i should do. The LR has covered 47k miles and I plan an auto box oil change, rear diff oil change and Haldex filter change and clean and new oil before the 50k mile mark.

I also have a couple of 'oldish' motorbikes for fun and indoor tinkering during winter (the days are long gone when I could keep a car in my single garage) and I still like to get my hands oily sometimes.

Look forward to contributing to the forum if i can.

Best regards,

Bill

England 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 S Manual Indus Silver

Thanks to andy131 for the things to look forward to.i bought the freelander from my son,I know a bit of the history over the last few years.the timing belt was changed recently due to the baffles on the manifold coming of and being melted in the combustion chamber also new injectors fitted.also when he just got it the wiper motor assembly needed replacing.
It came with dog guard, roof rack and rails, tow bar and side steps which I think I will remove later.electrical engineer by trade so the replacment extra earth lead fitted.also the battary is only 3 months old.i would like to see items about fual filter replacment and the heldex oil filter service.also there may be a small current leakage when left overnight I will test later.
Thanks Bob .

France 2011 Freelander 2 TD4 S Manual Ipanema Sand

Hello everyone.

I own a 2011 model that has 150,000 km.

I live in France near of the ex formula 1 circuit, Magny-Cours.

Happy to join you. I will start browsing a few pages looking for information to replace my rear differential. It starts to make a lot of noise ...

Netherlands 2012 Freelander 2 TD4 Sport Auto Barolo Black

Hi all,

Last week I picked up my new (to me) 2012 TD4 Sport (barolo black) automatic with 51000 km on it. It is my first Land Rover. Very happy with the car so far.

I hope to learn a lot about the car here in the forum and that I can help some other owners in the future.

Regards,

Grumsel

Loving It

Got Black Freelander 2 59 Reg. Its my first Land Rover and I am enjoying the ride. It is so easy to maneuver. I have driven Hummer H3 before and I find Freelander 2 more versatile.

Wales 2014 Freelander 2 TD4 SE Manual Santorini Black

Hi all, a quick introduction after having joined the site.

I've driven Land Rovers at work (mainly Range Rovers) since 1985 and have always felt the need to own one myself but could never justify it until I moved to Wales four years ago. Three weeks after moving here the snow came and we were snowed in for three weeks! Decided to sell our motor home and bought an MY10 Freelander S within two months. Obviously we've hardly had any snow since then but still managed to play a bit in the forests around here.

Loved the vehicle but recently decided to upgrade and got myself a Santorini black MY15 Se Tech. Still loving it and still trying to work out all the toys it came with. Found this forum whilst googling towbars and cycle racks and now I seem to be reading comments on here as much as I read the Freelander owners manual!

Can I be the first to wish you all a Happy New Year!

Graham

Newbie from Lincs.

Hi Folks,
just joined and I pick my first Freelander and indeed my first Land Rover up on Tuesday and really looking forward to it.

It's a black 2009 HSE auto.

I have had Jeeps in the past so this should be interesting. Smile

I look forward to chipping into discussions.

Hi, I am Martin and own a 2007 Freelander 2. I had the faulty rear Haldex diff problem a few years ago (100K miles) and got the original diff re-built by a specialist company in Norfolk, great service, cost £750. Just used the forum to solve radiator fan problem. Great forum, keep sharing, thanks everyone.

Thanks for letting me join, picking up my first Land Rover tomorrow, after 2 excellent VW Tiguan I've kicked them into touch because of the way they have treat UK customers over emissionsgate.

Going for a towbar fit early next week to tow my caravan and my brother's race car trailer.

PS. Oh, I'm JOHN by the way!
