Off road trailers sit pretty high off the road for clearance reasons. That will make them tilt down just to hook onto the hitch anyway. A riser is a good idea to keep it level.

England

Looks like there are two water containers fitted, one each side just in front of the trailer axle, looks like 30 litres, if full that's 60kgs, but would equate to maybe 40kgs on the hitch, eats into the 150kgs LR limit if the limit is the same as ours.

Would get the noseweight checked, even if it meant using a bit of wood and the bathroom scales.

Gosh! I hope will I never drag a trailer behind (regardless of how convenient it might be). Hey Mike, how are you? Smile

Good mate Smile How would you go dragging it up....or down, Mt Pinnibar? I'm off to the desert again in a few weeks. Cheers.

Wow, that was a great adventure, wasn’t it. I only wish it was a bit longer (with the two girls from Victoria Wink). Btw, I emailed the photos of the Disco disaster to the disco lady (not the sour disco dude) and she was very happy. She thanks you again and sends you her regards.

I suspect you are pursuing unfinished business with the crossing of the Simpson Desert south to north through Warburton Crossing (that’s what I would have done). Right? I envy you! Meanwhile I have to stay in Sydney to work hard in the club, pay the bills and to watch the World Cup. Next time we'll go together. Good luck mate! Let me know how it went.

You are correct my friend, Warburton Crossing it is. Smile It has to be the Jeep this year though. The mud last year nearly killed the FL2's gearbox and they can't quite determine what the problem is. I am driving it until it properly breaks but don't want to be in the middle of the Simpson when that happens.

I was "sour FL2 dude" last year... Very Happy

Lately I see a new model of Jeep which looks even cooler than the FL2. I wander if it is as capable as your Cherokee and as comfortable as my Landie. I am tempted, despite my natural distrust of anything US American.

The new Cherokee seems a bit short on power in the diesel and the petrols are no good for fuel consumption. All the newer Jeeps except the Wrangler are getting pretty soft in the off road side of things and there won't be accessories to harden them up. The standard 225/55/18 tyres for the Limited diesel model aren't going to cut it? That says it all for me...
