Since the Satnav obtains its data from the DVD, i presume you just pop it in the machine

Yes, just place it in the unit and it does it all by itself. UK/West Europe took just under 15 minutes to load and run.

Hope your new maps were better value than ours!! 07 RRS Java Black

Hello All,

The information on the diagnostic screens is great, but I was not able to locate the screen that allows you to unlock navigation input during driving, did anyone else happen to find it?

I found this site for the D3 unlock:

http://www.LandRoverForums.com/m_34031/tm.htm

So I was thinking there would be something similar.

Thanks in advance!

Chuck

It would be nice if a list of codes/instructions could be compiled and released so if anyone wishes to experiment with their car's settings, and potentially screw it up, they can do. Of course, it's entirely at the owner's risk and a disclaimer would need to head such a document so the risks are known, but I feel that we should be able to tweak things ourselves if the facility is inbuilt.
Of course, dealers wouldn't approve as there is a potential loss of revenue associated with this. Banging Head

Got my 2008-2009 update disk, all I did was eject the old disk and slot in the new one. Message on screen UPDATE WILL TAKE UP TO 15 MINS. So to avoid a flat battery I started the engine - Big Cry BIG MISTAKE - DO NOT START ENGINE!! The screen goes on and off for ever. Stopped the engine then pressed start button for radio/sat nav and update finished. Cannot tell any difference yet - just the warning screen is different.

Found another PIN code for the sat nav system:

PIN: 44276

Anyone found a software to view/edit the KWI files on the DVD?
I saw the specifications for the KIWI format are public and I've the skills to code a similar software but it would require too many work to create a such program Big Cry

Does anyone know if it's possible to adjust the Volume mute of the navigation.

I find it VERY annoying the music mutes completely everytime the nav has something to say (and she's a very chatty lady!!!)
In my last car I had a pioneer system and you could change te amount of mute.

Help would be welcome (leaving on a trip to Italy this weekend so would be nice to adjust it) Wink 2010 LAND ROVER Freelander 2 TD4 , Manual , Santorini Black , Premium Pack , Bleutooth , Panoramic sunroof , Privacy glass, removable TOWBAR!!

Found this old thread while looking for a solution to my problem.

The satnav screen comes on but the navigation button is grayed out, does anyone know how to reset the unit ? What if there were no hypothetical situations?

Have you put in a newer disc?

To elaborate, I put in a Volvo disc ! as referenced in this thread.

http://www.freel2.com/forum/topic10567.html

It said update software so I pressed the button for yes, the Land Rover logo came up then the start screen with the blue navigation button ( the navigation button grayed out after about 2 secs ) it cycled like this for over an hour ! the update screen said it should take approx 15 mins.

I put the original disc back in disconnected the battery for 5 mins but this did not cure it. What if there were no hypothetical situations?

my satnav did that in FL2.1, took it to the dealers and they said they replaced the screen, with a screen scratch in the exact same place as mine too Laughing Rolling Eyes

I think somebody else had this and it just righted itself after a while, he said he was just driving along and it came back to life, i guess its a glitch in the software loading, dirt on the disc etc and it doesn't know what to do, how to get round it though is something i dont know

When the updates are being loaded the button becomes pressed, it will pop out at intervals and pop back in again, whilst it is updating, my guess is it is still updating, some seem to take longer than others, I did mine on Saturday and it took about twenty minutes, my old Freely once took forever, in the end I just left the disc in and let it get on with it. From memory the first time I did an update, I had the same problem as you describe and thought Censored that's Censored it and put the old disc back in, still the same, left it overnight and the normal screen came back, put the new disc in and drove around for an hour, that's when I noticed the button going in and out, it probably took an hour. I would stick the new disc in and let it roll, when it comes back you can still use your old disc ok.
