Wheel arch rubber trim upgrade

Mike at LR confirms that latest model Freelanders have a different part number for the arch trims.
I tried asking for one as a sample for me to try and then to add a post on the forum adding comments photos and a set of update part numbers.
.
Unfortunately Mike says LR will not play ball.
.
If Dan at Duckworths can assist with a sample on part number LR031593 then ill still do the honours for the forum and buy the remainder parts.
.
If its an improvement then the suppliers should get a healthy return.
.
Kind regards from Fred

Dan is still selling the old ones. When I told him about this he asked me to describe the new ones. I'll refer him to this thread. It seems to be the same u-section but with an added round section rubber on top. A bit like a door seal. Ex AA Series III LWB Safari - Gone
300TDi Disco (bought new - terrible car) sent back after 18 months
Freelander 1 Estate - leased, given back at end of lease
200TDi Disco (bought from a mate with 100,000 on the clock) - Gone
Disco 2 TD5 - sold and exported to France
FR2 TD4 GS - Gone
FR2 SD4 HSE - Now changed for a DS
New model ex-demo Evoque S 180 in white
Unable to order a new DS, so gave up. Now have a Volvo S90 Recharge.

I seem to recall this some time ago - something about the nearside front trim being different on some versions? 10MY (Sept 09) TD4 HSE Auto in Stornoway Grey (Now Gone)

The arch seals are different, the same section, size and design but with a different/better outer coating, much smoother now in appearance.

The problem part of the arch trims is the metal strip inside the rubber. It corrodes on the ends where its cut and not sealed. I replaced mine about 3 years ago and sealed the ends of each strip. They still look fine.

That's possible. I've only looked at the NS front trim on mine - will check the others tomorrow. Yes I too have a vague memory of this, now you mention it! Ex AA Series III LWB Safari - Gone

I thought that Landrover would have helped us on the forum, I've just fitted new ones on mine and blasted the ends with wax. I don't feel like paying out for another set if we don't actually know what the others are and if they are an improvement.
.
I'd like to see photos of the cross section and what the cut ends look like.
.
I guess LR want to avoid mass warranty claims if they have to admit a design change to solve a manufacturing defect.
.
Kind regards from Fred.

Just checked mine again and it seems it's only the NS front one that is different. The others look the same as ever. There must be a reason for having the extra sealing rubber on there. As said above, I think it was briefly discussed on here once before. Ex AA Series III LWB Safari - Gone
