Specification help please.

Hi everyone, firstly let me paint a picture for you. I am member of FFRR, for those of you not familiar with that its the Full Fat Range Rover site, identical to this one but for Range Rovers.

I am looking for some advice please on Freelander specs please from people who are more knowledgeable than myself.

My dad has a 2010 HSE, which he has owned since new. it is just over three years old and he is thinking about parting with it. He informs me that due to his local dealer missing the delivery date of his new XS spec twice, they cam to an arrangement that he could have the HSE demo model in the showroom for his inconvenience. fair deal in my opinion!! Anyway, he was told that it had extras on it up and above HSE spec. If I were to list the spec of the car, could someone in the know maybe point out to me what the extras are, I just think that it would be good to know and maybe use as a bargaining tool when selling. Thanks very much in advance and God Bless The Green Oval.. Bow down

Is the spec above what he currently has, as it looks a standard HSE spec for a 2010:?:

That's all standard HSE spec isn't it. Can't see any 'extras' there. Past: FL2 TD4 HSE Auto
Evoque SD4 Dynamic Lux Auto
Present: Audi A3 S Line.

England 2011 Freelander 2 TD4 XS Manual Baltic Blue

2010 MY would be a TD4 160 bhp. The 150 bhp didn't appear until 2011 MY.
The spec looks like a pretty standard 2010MY HSE.

Thanks for the replys so far, it is a 60 plate 2010 HSE. I have looked on the net a bit already and thought it looks pretty standard to me as well. Is it possible if the dealer had it, that it's a 2011 MY but pre registered. What is the significance of the different power engines?

My dad was led to believe that it had bigger wheels, the twin sunroofs and trim were all upgrades.

No, can't be a pre registered MY11 in Stornoway Grey, Stornoway finished partly through MY10 because of the Tsunami in Japan.

Sunroofs and 18" wheels are standard HSE spec as was the rear Spoiler on MY2010.

So is it likely he has been led up the garden path a bit and the dealer has palmed him off with an older car?
Excuse my ignorance, but what does the Tsunami have to do with a paint colour finishing?
Again thanks for all the help.

The tsunami in Japan took out a plant Making the particles they put into paint

The way I read it is your dad has a 2010 TD4 HSE and they are offering a new HSE demo car, so should be less than 3 months old MY13 spec TD4 150hp auto (not the 190hp SD4)

Still can't see anything above HSE spec, though spoilers are now extras, but the paint colour can't be right due to been Stornoway

Edit: Just read the part about it been a 60 plate HSE Embarassed

60 plate could have been either a 2010MY 160 bhp or a 2011MY 150bhp. The MY11 went on sale in late September 2010 but there were still lots of 10MY vehicles being registered particularly at the start of the month. Easy way to tell is the 11MY will have the full width chrome strip on the rear door while the 10MY had the smaller dark grey strip.

Thanks for explaining the paint issue, quite interesting. The spec list I posted came from L/R customer services last week. I just want to know and understand exactly what MY spec this car is and everything about it. Sorry if I am being a bit blonde, but I know nothing about Freelanders.

If you subscribe into Topix, you can put the VIN in and it will give you the spec that it came out of Halewood with.

Anyone with the VIN can register for free, this gets you the build info but not much more without payment.

Scotland 2008 Freelander 2 TD4 XS Auto Santorini Black

The easiest way would be to see what the optional extras were available for the vehicle (spec, year etc) and check to see if they're fitted.

United Kingdom 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Manual Stornoway Grey

100% standard HSE.

Stornaway wasn't dropped because of the tsunami, it was Lago grey that was dropped. Stornaway carried on for a while as shadow grey on Jags.

But Stornaway was replaced with Orkney grey for the 2010 facelift. So this sounds like an old car. Freelander 2 HSE Lux 2013MY - Barolo Black with Ivory Leather. Alpine DVD - Privacy -Evoque 20" Dynamic Wheels and more to come.........
