Apart from the aesthetics of the spoiler, is there anything to be gained by fitting one? Updated- Waiting for a Scotland v England 6 Nations home win. 24th Feb 2018

I fitted one - looks good but that is about it - makes no discernible difference to the car or its use Shocked No Longer the owner of a 2013MY Fuji White GS

Little bit of deja vu here Mav, thought we covered this on the last post .........

I don't think you can tell the difference once it's in place, it has a nice fit to it Thumbs Up
I also went down the stainless fixing route as I found the fixings powerfuluk send with the spoiler started to rust
You will need 4 M6 16mm
Pack of 10 are £1.99

Don't think you would have any regrets Mav going with the powerfuluk spoiler Thumbs Up

Just ordered the spoiler. Is it Defo 16mm bolts or 6mm?? I'm keen to order the bolts now also thanks in advance

I think you'll find they are 6mm diameter (ie M6), 16mm long

why fit one in the first place ???

when I had Freelander 1 (of which I had many) I bought a spoiler ......... and turned it into something much better......

The bumper mounted lamps, were in my opinion ..... too low ...... so I twin'ed them .... have both low and high level lamps !

The Freelander 2 doesn't need this mod .........

The fixings rust very quick.

I fitted one to my previous Tambora Flame Fl2, it looked as good as the OEM, but as said, the fixings were cheap, not even plated bolts! I replaced all mine with stainless steel button head bolts & washers.

United Kingdom 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 XS Manual Sumatra Black

I got his spoiler from ebay. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/LAND-ROVER-FREEL...xypNtSgNfu I can't say if it's the same as the PowerfulUK ones but having looked at the fitting video I suspect it is. Yes the metal brackets seemed cheap but they do not hold the spoiler on, the 3M tape does that. The key point to everything is the prep and paint. I did this spoiler myself, started with sanding then a couple of filler primer coats, then colour and plenty of laquer coats, all sanded in between. I also sanded and painted (body colour) and laquered the brackets so I'm not expecting them to rust any time soon. Not brilliant pictures as it's raining.

My spoiler arrived from powerfuluk. I am just in the process of trying to get someone to spray it for me.. this may seem like a daft question but can anyone tell me how i can find out what colour black my car is? its a 2013 model 63 plate. Is it metallic? I have no idea how i can find out as i bought it used and it was just advertised as black. Also what is a decent price for a professional spray? Don't want to get ripped off. Thanks in advance all.

Thus great. Thanks. My car is a Barolo Black. Good job I checked as I have never heard of this type of black!
My first quote for the spoiler paint and lacquer is £60 plus vat. Seems a bit high to me

How much to run a round and then pay for thinners to clean it, roll of mutton cloth , a spray can of paint and further can of lacquer and dirty lungs thrown in with having not purchased a good face mask ?

Seems like a bargain to me and not really a VAT job is it if you get my drift. Whistle FL2 MY10 TD4 GS traded in at 2 years

£60 to spray it professionally seems like a good price - does that include fitting? No Longer the owner of a 2013MY Fuji White GS

No not fitting. That looks like a 5minute job I'll do that myself. If you guys think it's a decent price then I will go for it. I have no experience so maybe I underestimated the cost as I thought £50 or under !

Spoiler is now on the car! Mine came with the newer plastic brackets with only the one bolt per side.. I must have got the spoiler a mm or two off centre as i had a bit of a nightmare getting one of the brackets to bolt in.. had to use a slightly longer bolt to get it to fit! Anyway, pretty happy with the finish - defo finishes the rear end of the car off!
