Near miss

This happened......

In the process of avoiding her I have smashed my wheel against the curb, causing damage to the alloy wheel.

What should I do? Worth reporting????

(I re-reordered it due to the discussing language on the original)

Defo worth reporting but don't show them the next bit of the video where you are beating him up lol When I die, I want to go peacefully like my Grandfather did, in his sleep -- not screaming, like the passengers in his car

Six and two threes, you sneaking up the inside, the other car getting in the wrong position and realising then not checking mirrors.

Defensive driving, don't put yourself in a position to get hit.

Nice to se the caravan going the other way Thumbs Up p****d off with a Digital Keyboard Warrior

It's not sneaking up the left tho, they are in the right hand lane to turn right.

Not really IMHO, the vehicle did not indicate that it was turning right , the turning lane had only just started, it hadn't got wide enough at that point for it to get in it. Just put it down to experience and move on. p****d off with a Digital Keyboard Warrior

Oh I dunno.....defective N/S Brake Lamp, driving without due care and attention (no N/S Mirror check before manoeuvre)....knowing just how lazy Plod are these days, they would probably thrive on the evidence presented! Especially if investigation of Licence plate revealed no Tax/Insurance/MOT etc etc.... Foraging near Gaydon....

The colt was committed to turn right, I hung back because of the lack of indication. Luckily I did hang back as it would of been a lot worse. I will see what the traffic guys say at work tomorrow. There is still the case of my damaged alloy wheel.

There is a clear case of due care and attention, a lack of mirror and over the shoulder check.

The way I see is the car hadn't fully entered the lane, but was straddling both. I personally wouldn't have attempted to make my move until I knew for sure what the other drivers intentions were. Straddling both lanes meant they could go either way.

Not a criticism just a tricky one Thumbs Up 21MY Defender 90 S 3.0 D200

I'm no expert, and I don't pretend to be the world's greatest driver, but I think I would have done exactly the same as the OP.

I interpreted the Colt's manoeuvre to be committed to a right turn (regardless of indication). I too would have gone down the side of the Colt and been as stuffed as the OP. So, he has my sympathies.

Have I interpreted the Colt's manoeuvre correctly? Clearly not, as s/he then elected to NOT turn right. Should there be blame apportioned to the Colt? Not sure - I will leave that to others better qualified than me.

What I can say is that I would be just as aggrieved as the OP if I had dinged an alloy as a result.

I think it's one of those things where you really had to be there to make judgment. Thumbs Up 21MY Defender 90 S 3.0 D200
