JLR SDD

Interested to know if anyone has an interface to SDD and a subscription to use the software at a revision number to use on MY2013 ?

It's a "statistical" question or do you need someone to "physically" help you with something on your car?

Was trying to determine which JLR SDD version would have the CCF files to work with MY 2013.The latest V135 from Topix I am sure would .The cost of a subscription even for a day is expensive with this version. There a number of older versions available for offline usage, but wasnt sure from which version the MY2013 CCF files were available.Have since done more research and found answers.Just to enable towing module at this stage.

If the installed SDD version doesn't have the needed files, it will try to connect with the factory server and bring/download the necessary files.
Normally the firmware files are contained in a separate package than SDD one, and the package (installation kit) is named something like VDF_J_DVDxxx.exe for Jaguar and VDF_L_DVDxxx.exe for Land Rover.

I got a 138 JLR, no problem use it on MY2013. The newest version is 139: http://www.uobd2.net/wholesale/jlr-mongoos...rover.html

Hi,

Sorry to bring up an old topic. I was wondering if someone has a view on which of the following would be better to buy for my '07 FL2 please?

- British Diagnostics IDS/SDD v130 cable & software - http://britishdiagnostics.co.uk/buy-now-2/
- OBD2 Mangoose cable - http://www.uobd2.net/wholesale/v138-jlr-ma...rover.html

I was thinking the UK seller would be a faster delivery with more options around aftersales, however I am not sure if there are other limitations. Also, does anyone have any view on the different versions of the Mangoose cable on uobd2? They seem to vary between ~£30 and ~£50.

Thanks very much in advance.

Thanks for your reply Jim.

The car compatibility page: http://britishdiagnostics.co.uk/car-compatibility/shows an entry for L359 LR2 - is this the FL2?

Rhysw, be careful with mongoose cables, a lot are copies that sell cheap. New ones are a couple of hundred pounds. Thumbs Up

Thanks Lad. Both of the cables linked probably fall into the 'copies' category. I noticed that some had used the version from uobd2 but wondered if anyone had used the British Diagnostics version.

I bought the 'Mangoose' Pro from UOBD2. Mine came with V138 although it looks like they come with V139 now.

If it is a cheap copy it was a good enough one that when I used the genuine Mongoose drivers and software it updated the firmware Cool

I've no idea how true it is but I have seen it said that with many electronics items being manufactured in China one of the ways they keep manufacturing costs down is that the production run will be for a greater number than requested, the extras being sold off through companies like UOBD2. What you're buying is actually the real thing, just not via Mongoose themselves.
