Faulty Key fob fixed

Not long after buying our freelander a couple of years ago the main key fob which the owner had used since he bought the car new died on us! Luckily the spare worked fine, I have just opened up the faulty one with the intention of replacing the battery for the recommended Panasonic one, the key fob came open without the need of a knife, I just used a small flat screwdriver and a larger flat screw driver that I used to apply pressure down the key blade slot whilst working around the edge with the small one, it popped open reasonably easily, once opened I operated the tiny switches and they all worked!! On closer inspection I noticed that the rubber crosses on the inside of the case that operate the tiny switches were worn, I have cut some 1mm plastic packing pieces to fit inside the holes and spot glued the fob back together and it now works perfectly Very Happy Black FL2
