Now I am over 65, my LGV entitlement (C+E), only lasts a year. I have to have a medical every year (at a cost of £55 this year Shocked ). No cost to renew the licence, but I have to send both parts to DVLA each time. Driver card (tacho) is still valid and CPC will need to be renewed every 5 years from Sept 2014. 10MY (Sept 09) TD4 HSE Auto in Stornoway Grey (Now Gone)

It has also been advised to take a copy of your licence, as they deny you had the groups in the fist place, a number of caravan owners have lost their entitlement to tow anything over 3.5 ton GTW. p****d off with a Digital Keyboard Warrior

Dunkley201, Driver CPC started in Sep 2008 for PCV & Sep 2009 for HGV licence holders, each with 5 years to complete 35 hours of approved training. The deadline to complete the training is therefor Sep 2013/14. Then the next 5 year period begins! If one passed your car driving test before 1997, then you are entitled to drive a vehicle up to 7.5 tonnes (plus trailer) & similar passenger vehicles.
This CPC applies to anyone who drives a vehicle over 3.5 tonnes commercially. Private and other uses can mean an exemption. I sell Driver CPC Training as a living (along with other HGV related training subjects)

unciepaul. I know that - I've done the modules! that's why (for me) my CPC will need to be renewed 5 years from Sept 2014 (not that I intend to - too old). My statement applied to my situation, which is correct. 10MY (Sept 09) TD4 HSE Auto in Stornoway Grey (Now Gone)

I've had this piece of paper since not long after passing my test in 1986. If some office wallah fancies their chances at taking it off me, they'll find me explaining why they should never have left the safe confines of their hemorroid-inducing, health and safety assessed, tilt and turn, wheeled chair and why it's safer for them if they Censored off back to it!

You know when the Police ask for ID on these cops n robbers shows, I always wonder why nobody tells them that ID is still not a prerequisite in the UK. Oh and of course, I always drive around with my insurance documents just like everyone else Rolling Eyes

Damn cheek! I'm writing to the Mail on Sunday about this!! Censored Whereabouts unknown stop going to follow stream until reach civilisation stop message ends
