Beep when double locking

Recently noticed that when double locking my freelander (MY13) it doesn't make the beep that it used to. Does anyone know the significance or the beep or how I could have inadvertently changed something? Just tested single and double locking and everything appears to work properly, just the beep has gone.

Tim.

Thanks DrRpb. Wonder how this has happend as it's not been near the dealers. Unless it can be done by the key fob somehow (or the beeper is broken). Can't find anything in the manual so I guess it's one for the dealer next time it goes there.

You dont really need the beep, its anti social anyway, especially at night, as long as the lights flash and you hear the clunk what more do you need?

Totally agree about the beep but I just wondered why it would change on it's own. If it's random key fob presses when it's in my pocket I'll have to be careful in case it does other things. If something has stopped working for some reason I would like to know about it and get it fixed under the warranty. I loose confidence in things when they start doing stuff on their own !

I liked the beep that my Alfa Romeo 147 made. Two beeps to unlock, and one to lock. Get it looked at if your not happy, but its not really a big deal.

It's an on board setting on the drivers dash screen, 10 sec job. With all the other settings for auto lock/winter wiper park and light options. 2013 FL2 - Black Edition Auto

Thanks Jimski, you fixed it ! Don't know why it changed but somehow the option had been disabled in the menus.
Cheers.

Hey Tim,

Thanks for your post - did not realise that you can set the car to creating a beep, will set mine as I would prefer it rather than the light flashes.

Cheers.

Hi guys
Does the 2012 model offers this possibility...?

I always press the FOB 2 or 3 times i/o not to forget to close the doors (and windows...it has happened) and a lillte beep would be very helpfull.

Thks

Hi all you superheroes,

Can you advise on how to set the beep when locking?

Have scoured the LR manual and no information appears to be evident!

Have played about with the cockpit controls and dials and do not appear to be able to see any screens with lighting options.

Dumbfounded! 'There is thunder' then 'There is the warble of a V8'

As far as I'm aware it's only an option on the 2013 to set it yourself.

Might well be an option a dealer or independent can sort with the diagnostic tweak software on an older model though Thumbs Up 2013 FL2 - Black Edition Auto

Cheers Jimski,

You have saved me from messing around or interfering with the settings.

Much appreciated - and thanks for the quick response.
