England 2011 Freelander 2 SD4 XS Auto Indus Silver

Thanks for the answer. My caravan does not have ATC, so now will have to check on the charging / fridge operation when towing.

Sorry if I am a bit thick on this (new to Freelander and caravanning, but what is ATC?

Automatic Trailer Control, where a system detects instability and controls the caravan braking to 'flatten' it out again.

You can certainly feel it when it activates, a roundabout near me, as you exit the camber changes, you can feel it activate and hold you back. p****d off with a Digital Keyboard Warrior

United Kingdom 2013 Freelander 2 TD4 GS Manual Baltic Blue

Thank you bill once again.
It's looking very much like its the smart system in the car that won't allow charge until the cars ready.
I have spent ages today carrying out what the van dealer suggested but during all the checks and after an hour hitched up to the van it started charging !
I must admit I did 104 miles today before the stop start kicked in for the first time so whether the battery needed to be up to full charge before it was going to activate .
All too clever for its own good.
Still 42.2 mpg over 136 mile trip today and driving very well so looking good. Thumbs Up
