I understand the concept, but to me the convertible fails the Evoque. One of the Evoque's most distinctive and striking features is it's roof line, and how this sweeps back into the rear of the vehicle. Take out the roof and it looks like a block on wheels. Such a shame for such a good looking vehicle.

I suppose that the wading depth on a convertible is ultimately set by the height of the doors. Very Happy 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto

LR accountants probably think like this: Few owners drive any of their Land Rovers off road (except Defender of course). Lots of folk like convertibles. Evoques sell well. I reckon the new car will be a great success.

I like the way the Evoque drives - and you have the great advantage whilst driving one that you don't have to look at the hideous thing! Convertible looks far better to me. Ours - 2008 Stornoway Grey HSE Auto

I've never understood the attraction of convertibles - cold, draughty, uncomfortable things. Wind in your face, flies in your teeth, and exhaust fumes all around. Give me a nice, air-conditioned tin box any day! Convertible drivers in this country always look rather sad, wrapped up in thick overcoats, scarves and hats just so they can drive their pose-mobiles with the top down. I even saw one up here top down with snow still on the ground! Why?

Evoque ... hideous thing!

I used to think that until the DS came along, Now I realise that the Evoque could have looked so much worse! I still wouldn't buy one though - too small and impractical for me.
