These one was a private dealer ,He gave me 12 months warranty with a company called Warranty direct...He took the price of this from the car price..

He has been a total muppet on a few things and would not go back to him.. maybe we should have a bad dealer section on here..

Maybe as this seems to be a problem maybe Land rover should make the key battery changeable ..

One thing I did here on the way back from picking my son up the car keeps locking and unlocking as i was driving? is this related

I never had anything like that happen with mine when my fobs wasn't working Confused
For a week or so I was using the key to open and lock it...... are you sure it don't just need re programing Question

Bought mine from a none LR dealer and had no issues with them changing the fobs
If your still under warranty give em a call and tell them what's happening, you never know Wink BETTER looking half of the famous Twinlanders

If you are thinking of buying Fobs off Ebay, you need to 100% certain that they are new, if the Fob has been programmed to a Freelander 2, it cannot be reprogrammed to another Freelander 2 Thumbs Up p****d off with a Digital Keyboard Warrior

You need to have a read of The Sale of Goods & Services Act. It will depend on whether or not the faulty items could be regarded as having been of merchantable quality or not. 2013 RR Evoque Pure Tech

Your warranty is with a third party company and not with the trader/seller. The seller has done nothing wrong as he has supplied a legitimate warranty (albeit you paid for it). A lot of smaller traders will sell a third party warranty as part of the deal/screen price.

Your average trader making possibly as little as a few hundred quid upwards depending on the deal, probably could not afford to offer his own warranty, unless he wants to commit commercial suicide, with the potential costs to repair faults that could occur, it could wipe there profit off or even sink them settling a claim direct.

You should have a booklet explaining the levels of cover I.e. bronze/silver/gold etc and this should have a comprehensive list of what is or is not covered. You need to check what warranty you paid for and check against the above.
You then need to contact the warranty company, if your key fob is covered. They will advise you on how to make a claim.

If not you could ask the dealer to meet you part way but he is under no obligation to help Sad (GONE) FL2 2008 SE (manual) Santorini Black, the expensive one Sad
