Going to purchase a DA, thinking of a DAS-6 Pro. Never used one before and reading up on detailing sites it seems LR paint is described as Sticky or Intermediate. So question to the experts, what pads, polishes etc. are best for Use on FL2's for removing swirls, polishing and correction? 2014 SE Loire Blue SD4 Auto (MY15)

I have a DAS 6 pro and have just used it to polished my FL2. I needed to remove some minor scratches, marring / swirls and holograms. I used Menzerna PF2300 polish on an orange Lake Country CCS pad, with no problems but did take a few days. Hope that helps

Meguiers DA Microfibres Polishing pads and their DA cutting polish, you could go further and refine with their finishing pads and DA polish but I never have had too

The MF system is so much faster than foam pads and numerous polishes they say it's near on a rotary polisher without the risk Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Cheers guys - got a good deal on a nearly new DAS 6 Pro last night. Think I'm going to go with Menzerna after talking to guy at CYC. Wife too fond of getting her Narvik FL2 washed by the Eastern Europeans so some swirls to deal with. 2014 SE Loire Blue SD4 Auto (MY15)

Lots of guided on you tube, main thing is not to rush it, a few years ago I did my first FL2 and it took 2 full days of prep and polishing Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Regarding snow foam applicators, I have been having a quick read up on the process and wondered what is the best method, a pressure washer, a garden hose or a garden sprayer.

I presume there are advantages and disadvantages of all 3 but I have never snow foamed before so was wondering which way to go. LR Freelander 2 2014 metropolis SD4 auto in Loire Blue.

I use a special snow foam lance with a pressure washer. Get as much dirt off you can with the washer then foam, leave for 20 minutes then lambs wool mitt using the two bucket method.

regarding the thread where the lance screws onto the pressure washer, is it a standard thread used on various makes of washers?

I fished out my dads old pressure washer and managed to get it working but the lance is knackered so I was going to buy a new one with a snow foam attachment. The pressure washer is a discontinued B&Q own brand so I was going to have a look at a generic one or karcher etc LR Freelander 2 2014 metropolis SD4 auto in Loire Blue.

Ive now fished out a second pressure washer and the thread is the same for both of them where the lance hose attaches to the pressure washer (one is a MacAllister & one is a Performace Pro, both from B&Q I think) so I have made one good one out of two using the lance that doesn't leak connected to the pressure washer that actually works.

The lance that leaks had a snow foam attachment (which I want) and the good lance doesn't (typical) however the attachments are not interchangeable as they have two different fittings. A quick visit to google images shows many fitting types. Mine appears to be the Kew?Alto/Nilfisk fitment so Im off to Amazon to see whats about Smile LR Freelander 2 2014 metropolis SD4 auto in Loire Blue.

Is there an improved alternative to T-Cut these days and once you have worked on an area to remove minor scratches, do you need to polish then wax or can you just wax the area?

Meguires scratchX is a good pdoduct , just follow it up with a wax after it and that will do . The only place for Tcut nowadays is in the bin .
