Tyre load rating discrepancy / clarification

The sticker on my FL2 (2011) with dtls about tyres for 19" states load ratings of 100V and 105V. However, on this link it only states 105V (which I'm assuming to be an official thing) https://www.freel2.com/gallery/albums/user...essure.pdf

I've only found one other post where npinks mentioned 100V listed on his sticker ( https://www.freel2.com/forum/topic4626.html?highlight=100v ).

I've shortlisted tyres down to either the general grabber GT (101W) or pirelli verde all season (105V). I spoke to the guys at AJS and they said I shouldn't go with the grabber because it's load rating is insufficient (and that general had made a cock up and were working on a revised version with a 105 load rating). My local indy thought it would be fine (although I trust AJS more).

I've prefer the grabber tyre, from my research it's a better option (and cheaper) than the pirelli. But if it doesn't match the recommended minimum load rating then I'm not willing to chance it.

Anybody face this or a similar situation and can give me some clarity? Or perhaps know why the sticker and above link aren't consistent? Did it change at some point between 2011 and now?

(btw I asked this at the end of an old thread and got no responses - but I know sometimes that's not the best way of people seeing it hence the new post) FL2 2011 SD4 XS in Galway Green

No takers Sad

How about: is anyone with 19" wheels running on tyres with < 105 load rating? (perhaps the Michelin Latitude Sport?) FL2 2011 SD4 XS in Galway Green

Thanks Ian, v helpful.

That link highlights my concern: sticker on my car says it needs tyres that can support a load of at least 800 kg (100V), whilst the PDF linked above says I need tyres that can take at least 925kg (105V). Across four wheels that's a 500kg - half a tonne! - capability difference (although I'm sure it's not as simple as just adding them up...)

I'm trying to establish which of these sources I should trust. FL2 2011 SD4 XS in Galway Green

Just had a look at our MY13 XS and its running 17" Wranglers @ 104V. I'm sure our old MY10 GS was the same. I wouldn't have thought wheel size would have made any difference to load rating so IMHO go for the 105V

It does seem to vary by tyre size.

According to the PDF (linked above), these are the various sizes and recommended load/speed ratings by tyre size. On my sticker in the driver side door well, it matches this EXCEPT it includes 100V for 19".

16 inch
215/75R 16 107H or 103H

17 inch
235/65R 17 104V or 108V

18 inch
235/60R 18 103V or 107V

19 inch
235/55R 19 105V FL2 2011 SD4 XS in Galway Green

There's a bit more detail on the TOPIX page headed Tyre Matrix. Link via http://www.freel2.com/forum/topic14175.html

Thanks past master.

I see there is one tyre on the approved list with 101 load rating, albeit for North Americas. Gives me some confidence that there's at least no physical issue with a 101 tho.

Interesting that there's no General tyres specifically approved for the Freelander 2. FL2 2011 SD4 XS in Galway Green

...

I guess that the brand of tyres can't be mandated... if (eg) you buy a FL2 with Goodyear on, there's nothing wrong with choosing a perfectly good set of tyres from (eg) Cooper even though it's not on the LR TOPIX list... Goodyear may go out of business for example

Under those circumstances (& other situations). no authority (eg insurance co, LR warranty dept etc) can gainsay that choice...

Be true to yourself. That way happiness lies...

I ended up taking the lower risk option and got some rated 105V (Pirelli Scorpion Verde all season).
