Climate Control Test

Hello everyone.

I'm new to the forum and need some help with my 2008 LR2 SE climate control. The A/C has never been very cold from new, and the interior always seems warmer than the temperature is set to. E.g. we set the internal temp to 75F (we're in Houston TX) on a warm sunny day (80ish) and with the system on auto, the A/C will blow fairly lightly and fail to cool the car down. The only way to get it to cool the car down is to set the temp much lower (68F) and then it will blow hard, but not ice cold. When the A/C starts to back off automatically, the interior of the car is definitely not at 68F. Anybody know of a way to test the climate control? My Ford needs a series of specific button pushes to initiate a "self test" function and I wondered if the Landy has the same thing?

Thanks in advance.

Hi,
Not aware of a test function, but it sounds like you may need to get the air conditioning system "re-gassed" - refilled with the refrigerant gas. If everything mechanical is working OK, refilling the system might do the trick.

Would suggest popping into a local garage with the right equipment and getting them to have a look.

I wish it was warm enough for us in the UK so that we needed to use the A/C! Rolling Eyes 2013 RR Evoque Pure Tech

Mine gets cold right away! And I am in Arizona. In fact, the best AC I've had in a vehicle. I would suggest take it to the dealer and have them test the system.

Good luck! Cuatro Por Cuatro
