BOOT LIGHT

FLEELANDER 2007 TD4

The boot ligth has never worked and I thought it was a bulb but then last night it cam on when I opened the boot.... now it wont come on again....

Where is the sensor as I can not find it anywhere?

Anyone put an LED into the boot and if so how did it turn out as the light I have is a little dim - like me when it come to cars

May I recommend that you first change the bulb for a brand new one and unplug and plug the unit two times from the harness wire to clean the contacts.
Only then if it doesn't work go chasing the switch. 2010GS Auto ex Celeb, Santorini Black, 2011 facelift , spoiler, spats, mudflaps, LED footwell lamps, Witter detach,

On my car the boot light comes on in conjunction with the other interior lights, not just when the boot is opened, so it's unlikely to be the tailgate sensor. As 'fred' says, start with the lamp itself, then probably the wiring to the lamp rather than the sensor.

There's a post elsewhere on here from someone who fitted LEDs to illuminate the boot - separate from the existing light, but might still be of interest. I don't have the link, but a search should find it.

Edit: Found the link - this is the post I was thinking of: http://www.freel2.com/forum/topic14558.html
