Uncomfy drivers seat

I have recently bought my first freelander xs. It's a 2007 and done 62000 miles. I'm loving everything about the car apart from the drivers seat that I find very uncomfortable on my lower back. Has anyone else had this problem with the xs seats?

Yes I hated my 2007 seats in my freelander, I am 6'3 and could never get compfy in 3 years of owning it. The lack of headroom was an issue too

I've a 2010 car with 34k miles. I've just had the seat foam replaced and wow the difference.
Relative to the value of your car and a price loss should you change,; if you like the rest of the car why not invest in new seat foams. Give Dan at Duckworths your vin number and he'll qoute you.
My foam had Definitly sagged, Mav has changed his as well.

I loved the seat in my 2008 freelander, I am 6'3 and it was always comfy in 5 years of owning it. The headroom was never an issue for me.

Sounds like the seat base foam has sunk, meaning your back is not roasting against the right part of the seat back.

I have always found my car ales sure to drive and extremely comfortable, I am 6ft and never had an issue, but by changing the seat base foam made the seat like new again.

They are about £74 from LR. Freelander 2 HSE Lux 2013MY - Barolo Black with Ivory Leather. Alpine DVD - Privacy -Evoque 20" Dynamic Wheels and more to come.........

I've found the seat base a little short, and I don't have long legs. The middle cloth section (XS electric seats) is also a bit rough and can be irritating at times.
Might invest in new seat foam as described or full leather front seats if I can find them in Alpaca.

I find the seats very comfortable due to them having the adjustable lumber support, unlike those say on a low spec Ford Focus where no matter how they were adjusted gave me back ache, the solution was to get out and walk, my back was ok then. Very Happy

so what are we talking for new set of foams on drivers seat?

I am 6'2" and about 120kgs and i have to say after 105k miles the seat has had more support.

I have no lumbar support as '07 GS but seats used to be more supportive i'm sure.

Apart from that car is running well.

As in my post above, about £74 for a seat base foam. Then the cost of having it fitted. If you have heated seats, you may need to buy a new heated seat mat which is about £55.

You may get used to it. I thought the seat was a lot less comfortable than my Disco 2, but I've got used to it now and no problems (apart from having to pump up the base every time I use it).

Re: Uncomfy drivers seat

I have found that the S model with the manual seats, has very poor lumbar support. Unlike the elec seats with the manual lumbar support on higher spec models.
After 9 months of occasional driving, my back has now improved Smile Did initially try adding some supporting foam to the lumbar seat area. Didn't help.
I tend to maintain it, rather than drive it these days Laughing Landy has now gone.
