United Kingdom 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 XS Manual Indus Silver
iPhone 5 and 07 FR2

How guys, new to the forum and my first post.
I have just treated myself to an 07 FR2 and being predominately a biker this is the first time I've ever treated myself to a decent car. Extremely impressed and somewhat regretting not getting one earlier.
Anyway back to my query. The Bluetooth function will not pair with my phone, it will see it but it will not pair. Do I need to take into a land rover garage and get the onboard computer's firmware updated, if so how much will this cost. As I'm not a big fan of using phones in cars, it is a nice to have but not essential hence why if its going to cost too much I wont bother.

United Kingdom 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 SE Manual Santorini Black

There have been threads on iPhone pairing recently and troubles that people have had with new iOS versions. I have got an 07 FL2 SE and I have no trouble pairing my iPhone 4s that is on the latest version of iOS. To get the exact combination, a mate of mine has and iPhone 5, if I see him in the next day or so I'll see if I can pair his phone to my FL2 for comparison.

Of course, there's bound to be someone else along soon who has already tried this!

Andy.

I've done this with both my iPhone5 and wife's iPhone4, both have IOS6, the car system will see the phones on the menu, on the Bluetooth menu of the iPhones there are no discoverable devices, and when you select the relevant phone it will say added phone failed, grrrrr.
To that when the phones' bluetooth is on, but not in Bluetooth find mode, the car system can't find the phones, grrrrr.

Are there any old phones paired? It may be worth checking and getting rid of those if any are present Thumbs Up

With ours, I did it the other way. Switch on phone bluetooth, find 'Land Rover', then I think choose join and enter 2121. As per the previous post, make sure the car bluetooth menu/memory is not full. Past: FL2 TD4 HSE Auto

Well followed the manual,
1.Bluetooth menu
2.Connect phone

No remove phone option, plus on main menu all options are locked except Bluetooth, so I'm assuming that there is no other phone in the memory.
I've even tried my daughters old Blackberry, same symptom. The car will see the phone, but the phones can not discover the car's Bluetooth, every time I'm getting ADDED PHONE FAILED. Big Cry
I'm now at a loss, could it be the firmware?

What about trying a hard reset? Disconnect battery, connect the pos and neg battery cables together, give it 10 mins or so and reconnect battery. That might reset the FL's bluetooth. Past: FL2 TD4 HSE Auto
