DIY: iPhone brodit mount to AUX and wiring

Hi All

MY first project with the FL2, I wanted to mount the phone on the dash using a brodit clip and run the wiring back to the 12v and AUX sockets. I wont like having unsightly wires so took the following approach.

Items:
Selection of spade connectors
Spare 12v socket
12V to USB charget
Wire to connect the above
iPhone Dock connector with line out and usb http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/170818445498?ssP...1439.l2649

I wanted the connections to be inside the central console and I also wanted to keep the external 12V adapter free so I knocked up the following after a quick trip to maplins:

You can enter the rear of the central console by removing the little storage gubbins:

Space is a little tight so I squeezed the 12v socket behind the supporting metal and then connected the USB end:

As I may want to change the AUX input at some stage I didnt want to connect this internally, I found there was already a hole at the bottom of the cubby when the liner was removed

Beside the steering wheel it was pretty straight forward to route the cable along the trim which is tight enough to hold it in place:

Unfortunately my brodit dock is still awaiting postage so instead I'm using an invisible one

I also mangled the AUX in however my local ford supplier has one in stock.
