United Kingdom 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 GS Manual Zermatt Silver
Freelander 2013 Chrome Boot Handle

Hi! I'm considering a 2013 facelift for my '57 plate Freelander and have read of how difficult it is to line up and drill the required additional two screws.

I was wondering.... has anyone tried a good strong 3M adhesive tape to the entire length as the main handle that shall incur the brunt of day to day use shall be held in place using the original screws.

Has anyone tried this or am I just dreaming of a simple life that doesn't exist?! lol

Many thanks,

Andrew

It's easy enough to do, it only 2 Holly's to drill. Took me around 30 minutes to fit in total

Search my post "2011 facelift the complete low down" it tells you how to drill the tailgate. It is very easy and takes about 1/2 an hour to get it right.

Using tape will not work at all, as there is not enough surface area to ensure a good bond. Freelander 2 HSE Lux 2013MY - Barolo Black with Ivory Leather. Alpine DVD - Privacy -Evoque 20" Dynamic Wheels and more to come.........

what about tiger seal ? When I die, I want to go peacefully like my Grandfather did, in his sleep -- not screaming, like the passengers in his car

There is not enough surface area on the handle. Why not just do it properly? Freelander 2 HSE Lux 2013MY - Barolo Black with Ivory Leather. Alpine DVD - Privacy -Evoque 20" Dynamic Wheels and more to come.........
