17" offroad tyre suggestions please

The landrover is driven on fields and muddy tracks all day so I need grip.

But its a family car at weekends so I dont want vibe.

Do GG at2 foul the rear shock? if not which size is it I need.

Any alternatives will be considered.

Thanks in advance for any replies.

Try some General Grabber AT 235/65/17 or better still give Andy at AJS a call to discuss your needs.

Yokohama Geolander AT-S are a really good all round tyre that have surprising grip off road and are very quiet on road. I run 245/65/17 for better off road traction and a slight lift that is still legal and doesn't play with the speedo reading much. My last set lasted 85,000 kms. The Geolander HT's are rubbish so don't get mixed up.

I have the general grabbers, been very happy with them, they are quiet, and are very good off road. I have found that on grassy fields the traction control hardly has to do anything, use to work quite alot when on the old good year wranglers. Freelander 2, 2014 Dynamic SD4 Santorini Black

Depends how aggressive you want to be. I'd recommend either BFG AT's (they last forever), or if you really want off road performance go for BFG MT's. Do remember that the more off road you go, the less on road you go at the same time!

Andy.

I don't think they do the at2 anymore due to noise regs.

The general grabber At with the funky tread pattern is a very good tyre, I never got stuck with these on and believe me I tried! No extra noise, reasonable price and the car is still a car when you get out of the brown stuff.

The grabber at replaced the at2 so I've been told. I'm really happy with my at's. I got them recently after replacing all four wranglers. I find them very quiet on most road surfaces. I've yet to try them off road. Black MY2013 SD4 GS Auto, Wood Company Armrest, Freel2 sticker.

Thanks guys.

Can you tell me what size AT2s I will need as Ive got 17" alloys on my car, I heard they can foul the rear shock if you get the size wrong.

Anyone know the specific size and how much I should expect to pay per tire?

A set of Yokohama Geolander AT-S in size 245/65/17 are pretty much an excellent choice. Quiet on road, excellent off road, the size gives a mild lift and extra traction, long wearing at around 50,000 UK miles and they don't touch the suspension anywhere. I've tried them in the toughest conditions and was impressed.
