Tips on Cleaning and Restoring Grey Plastic Name Badges

So on my 06 I have a grey name plate boot thing and on the bonnet the Landrover name.... the problem is the last owner seems to have used some thing that seems to have 'stained' the plastics so it looks like water running....

Tried AG bumper gel, vinyl and rubber restore and elbow grease with no change....

Any thoughts on how to restore ?

Was waiting for warm weather before the full go but one of the reasons I discounted that is that it seems to have really stained the plastic rather than just a surface stain.... was thinking I needed some thing to 'even it out'. That said I shall have a go.

I get the feeling what ever was used was probably very acidic...

If I didn't know better those marks look like the marks left by the use of a strong dose of TFR.

I use WD40 to clean those kinds of stains off the aluminium kitchen extractor hood. Might be worth a go. 2013 RR Evoque Pure Tech

I think I have a boot handle under the stairs, if you want I could dig it out and inspect it, then do a deal on it Idea Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Thanks.... I'm not giving up yet but I'll keep you in mind.

The key thing for me is if I can work out how it was done may be I can at least get the rest to match.

To those suggesting chrome - thanks but its not really my thing tbh.

Mine are still perfect after 3 years, wash the car once week with a good brand car shampoo and it keeps everything ok, no water marks anywhere.
