Swmbo borrowed the FL2 last night and had a minor disagreement with a width restriction. I now have a nice 2" scuff across the front of the shadow chromes... But worse, she managed to catch the front of the near side side step.
She got home and as I was looking around it in the pouring rain, I went to push the side step and it fell off in my hand!!
So now I'm left with some nasty looking steel 'pegs' jutting out from the bottom of the car and the actual step part sat in the garage

My question is... Do you think this is repairable or am I looking at new steps. I have not had chance to take a proper look yet, but it appears that the fixings that hold the tread part to the 'pegs' have corroded and this knock has help it off. There is no physical damage to the pegs or the step.. So I guess it was due to fall off at some point :-/

After much consideration and technical research my advice is to divorce her asap
