if they are small holes, I saw a program once were they did a smart repair on the cloth seat cover, even down to putting in the little red flecks the cover had in

Might be worth looking at that, cheaper than a seat cover Idea Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Dan , is it possible just to change the bottom part or do you have to change the whole seat . The base cushion on my 59 gs is losing its shape and the fabric has got stretched. Can you get a new cushion for the base and is it a fairly straight forward swap.

In the process of changing my seat covers for new ones . Finished all of them except rear seat backs. Have looked for torx fixings but can't seem to locate them. I don't suppose anyone got any ideas where they might be . I thought some one who has done a commercial conversion might know . I've got a horrible feeling they are behind boot liner.

Finally finished fitting new seat cloth covers , really lifts interior even though still cloth . Added some aftermarket seat heaters while seats were stripped . I know winters gone for now, but SWMBO loves them.

2011 Freelander 2 TD4_e GS Manual Lago Grey

You have made a great job. Was it very difficult to do? My covers are wearing and I am trying to pluck up courage to tackle the job. Did you take seats out? Any what fixes the covers to seats?
Any hints, tips..or even a guide to what you did would be appreciated. Thanks

I was originally just going to recover the front bottom covers ,but I managed to get these on Ebay.
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Original-Freelan...&rt=nc

My Gs is a MY10, the seat covers were for a MY12, so I ended up changing the lot. Its not really difficult to do just a bit time consuming . It took me on and off doing one seat at a time about 16hrs. But i did fit seat heaters as well.

Yes you do have to remove the seats to do it ,(disconnect battery first) there all pretty easy, except for the rear upright seats. I ended up removing boot liner to get to hex bolts for those. There may have been an easier way but I couldn"t find one.

Replacing just the bases is a lot easier than the backs, so if you can get away with it just change those.

The seat covers are held on by hog rings, which attach to metal wires in the foam. You have to cut the old ones off.

If you have a steamer , steam the foam cushion and it brings it back to its original shape

You can get new hog rings and hog ring pliers off Amazon or ebay . I bought some long handled pliers , you could do it with normal pliers but the hog ring pliers hold the rings in the jaws so much better.

The whole job inc seat heaters and tools was less than the price of one replacement seat cover.

Hi, looking at replacing the Alpaca base leather as these have started to split on the side bolsters 07 HSE on drivers and passengers seats.

Can we anyone price these up and what's the LR model number?

Thanks,
Rion
