Silicone spray for wiper blades

After some of the recent downpours, my wipers although new in August, started doing that irritating scraping/juddering thing instead of clearing smoothly. I decided to put some silicone spray onto a cloth and run it over the blades.

Smooth as silk now Thumbs Up

Used to use WD40 but I found that wore off quickly. LL.B (Hons) - University of Derby

+1 for the vinegar...works a treat. As does Autoglym Fast Glass.

Does silicone spray not leave a greasy film on the glass at all? Would have thought that it would cause smearing generally....is that not the case then? Foraging near Gaydon....

The blades scraping/juddering bcoz the blade is sat at the wrong angle on the screen so rather than the blade gliding over the screen as it should do its trying its best to cut in to the screen hence as a rule they will only do it in one direction,If they do it both its the blades are at fault.
All you need do is work out which way the blade is pointing to cause the problem and with a cloth and a pair of pliers twist the wipper arm very slieghtly the other way to correct the blade angle,Sounds harsh but it takes very little presure to change the angle.
When ive done the very same in the past ive managed to do it by hand but it would depend how bad the problem is.

I had Bosch ones once, juddered on a wet screen but silky smooth on a dry screen, bought genuine a week later.
