Gear Problems after wading

After the recent prolonged rain over the last few days, the carpark at my friends flat was flooded. I offered to give him a lift back to the flat so he could move his car to higher ground. Everything was fine wading in to the water which must have been less then the 500mm wading depth of the freelander, however after I drove out of the water I couldn't select 2nd gear!

I parked, selected neutral and checked around the car. It then wouldn't go in to 1st! After a couple of minutes, I managed to 'force' the gear lever into 1st gear and went on my way, 2nd and 3rd were stiff but selectable, then after a 10 minute drive, everything was back to normal.

I have waded Land Rovers a few times before at the LRE etc. Just wondered if anyone has seen this before or knows if its something worth getting checked out?

Thanks! www.222photography.co.uk

Sounds like something in the linkage, possibly something picked up floating in the water?
Have a good look around the gearbox and its selector mechanism.
