Has anyone found an egr blanking kit yet ?

Hey guys has anyone found a kit to blank off this damn egr valve ? I swear its causing my lack of power at 2 500rpm. I have a early freelander 2. I had a look at some previous posts but cant find a detailed instruction of how to remove it and clean it. When I die, I want to go peacefully like my Grandfather did, in his sleep -- not screaming, like the passengers in his car

Your lack of power is more likely to be the EGR valve sticking causing excessive smoke, higher fuel consumption and rough or uneven idoling.
Its no easy job to remove the valve for cleaning so you will need to set back a good few hours.

I am not convinced by these blanking plates to be honest. I have not yet heard of anyone who has one fitted and it not giving hassle in some form or another.

My management light came on last August which was the EGR fault, but it went off a few days later and has not been on since.

Not sure if I should change it or not to be honest. But I won't fit a blanking plate. Freelander 2 HSE Lux 2013MY - Barolo Black with Ivory Leather. Alpine DVD - Privacy -Evoque 20" Dynamic Wheels and more to come.........

I am almost sure that the MIL will come on after blanking EGR valve as the ECM monitores the amount of EGR flow Confused

It might on a Freelander however in the past I have blanked off EGr's on Citroens with great results and blanking EGR's is often done on VAG diesels without any harm or problems although some engines benefit from an ECU tweak. So, the situation appears to be that JLR have such a complex EGR install as yet no one has figured out how to by-pass it? I suspect this is probably deliberate on the part of JLR...... When the 2.0 TDi VAG engine was upgraded to common rail I recall VAG tried to make it impossible for the re-mappers to inject their magic however wasn't long before a way round it was found..... eh tu?
