HEATED FRONT SCREEN AND REAR SIDE SCREEN PROBLEM

WINDOW HEATER QUERY. Hi, this is my first post since buying my HSE diesel auto about 6 weeks ago. My question is about the front heated screen and the rear side heated windows. The drivers side screen heater comes on every time I press the "prog" button but the passenger side seems to come on some times and not others. This is the same with the rear side windows, but the back window works every time! Does anyone have an idea what's going on ??? Question A bad day sailing beats a good day in the office.

I'm new to this freelander stuff. But I don't think the side windows have demisters in them. They are ariels.

Front screen sounds like a connection issue, at the base of the screen either side are the connectors, check those.

The side rear screens are NOT heated, the lines you see are the radio antenna, drivers side FM/MW, passenger side DAB.

The rear sides are the aerials for the radio (on standard motors anyway), as for the front screen maybe a bad connection or faulty relay.

Welocme to the Forum.

Rear side windows are not heated. The elements you see are aerials for the radio, DAB one side and VHF the other.

Front heated windscreen should come on fully each time it's turned on. Sounds like it might be a loose connection on the passenger side which is causing an intermittent fault.

Andy,
Thanks for your post. I was going to ask that same question too, regarding the rear side heaters Laughing Never thought they were the ariel Laughing Only took me 4 months to realise it. As we own the base model LR2, thought they wern't hooked up Laughing Landy has now gone.

What's more worrying is that when I asked my dealer about the rear side window heaters not working they said they thought these were radio aerials! Not exactly an unequivocal response from them! Confused Disco 4 HSE SDV6 Orkney Grey

The dealers can do a lot of "Thoughting" especially when you take the car in for problems such as slipping clutches and whining diffs and they will say they we "thought" it was ok as far as we are concerned Shocked
