don't think that was as close as you may think, just the viewing angle makes it look so.

Close enough for the van to have to slow down and the driver shook his head. On another note, the police phoned me with an update on the Merc today. No trace yet but all local officers aware and ANPR logged etc. Just a case of waiting for him to come across police now (preferably unmarked). LL.B (Hons) - University of Derby

Interestingly the Vectra was on the roundabout before the van, had neither cut into the the white lines there would have been no problem, the van was certainly driving quickly, an attempt to show he was in the right, both were wrong, could the van have made it at that speed round the roundabout without slowing? possibly not. my PC is slightly to the right of Genghis

In the 1st of these 2 clips, the U-Turn may not appear to be a big deal. However, notice the filter light has come on. By the time he completed the turn, the traffic to the right of me was on green so it was the equivalent of him running a red light down the hill as far as they were concerned!

In the 2nd of these 2 clips, you can just about hear the indicator if you crank the volume right up. The van driver had seen me but went anyway and cut the roundabout.

I would suggest you leave your dashcam at home should you visit Cyprus Doc, those incidents occur about every 5 mins in built up areas here. You could use up the sites band width allowance posting them Laughing my PC is slightly to the right of Genghis

I could post every single day, several times a day too. The driving here in North Brum is horrendous. However , I'm sure I'd be accused of "the R word" as 99% of all traffic violations are committed by our wonderful cousins from abroad. There's even one regular burkha wearing DRIVING INSTRUCTOR who has no idea on how to drive. The blind leading the blind.(no pun intended regarding her attire). She has in the past undertaken me at speed in a 30 zone to cut me up so she could turn right at the traffic lights, then proceeded to wait when they were green, when she had plenty of opportunity to cross safely, only to proceed when the lights had turned red and the traffic in the opposite direction was moving again. I've seen her plenty of times, usually in the morning. If she has a student then she seems to tell them that as long as they have indicated then they can manoeuvre immediately in to on coming traffic regardless of the position or road speed of the other vehicles.
And don't get me started on the taxi drivers round here who will actively break every rule in the book. There's one spot where they regularly do a u-turn on the duel carriageway into oncoming traffic, to use the cut out to get to the other side of the duel carriageway rather than drive 50 yards to the next turn. There has been several major incidents at this spot caused by these idiots. The problem is that just after the cut out to turn is the banks. Punters get the taxi to stop for the cashpoints and the taxi's are then past the point to turn round. Once there was a minibus that had performed this u turn and had failed to see the Transit van until the van t-boned the minibus. There were bodies all over the carriageway and I was late for work that night.
