Unrelated question:

Does anyone know how, why or when "should of" has started to replace the grammatically correct "should have"? It's getting more common in all sorts of instances. Doesn't make sense to me, or am I just old-fashioned? Ours - 2008 Stornoway Grey HSE Auto

Thought so Whistle. Quite pleased to be old-fashioned though - mind you, according to my almost 40-year old daughter I'm just plain OLD! Must be right 'cos I don't really mind that either. Better than being young and still going to wŁ$k Twisted Evil Ours - 2008 Stornoway Grey HSE Auto

funnily enough Ive seen that pic on a farming forum, members there said too many lights caused the problem.

The enthusiastic younger drivers (tractor boy racers) are prone to fit two flashing beacons to their machines sometime a police car style light box on the roof too, you can see them coming, loads of beacon and often a stainless steel exhaust heat shield a la American trucks.

So tractors are in a way like caravans mainly avoid the chrome ones

As for the pic its reckoned the green tractor was attached to the trailer and jackknifed after sinking in the verge, but the trailer light is still on so either thats wrong or the cable is very long? At work

There's probably a third tractor facing the other way hitched to that trailer, thought "I can get through there" Laughing

I have noticed a trend for silly driving with tractors. Overloaded trailers with potatoes, sugarbeet or onions falling onto cars. Driving too fast and because of width on opposite side of road. No lights, or hidden by trailer or equipment. The old tradition of the tractor pulling over to allow cars to pass when traffic has built up has long gone. Evil or Very Mad

Quote "Should of phone the police let them deal with the looser"

A couple of years ago whilst on the M4, the lorry in front of me was shedding bits of its load, with one piece of alloy trunking hitting the front of my car.
I called the police explaining what was happening and giving the company name on the lorry. Their first question, " are you using a mobile whilst driving?" Secondly, could I got to my local station to give a statement?" When I asked if they would pursue the matter due to the potential danger, they said they were a "bit busy" I went to give a statement, but before taking it, the desk officer wanted all my documents first. When I asked why, as I was reporting an incident, they said they wanted to ensure my legitimacy of being on the road!
Well thanks for that, but I doubt I'll be bothering to report anything similar in the future.

I used to go to a County Police Headquarters quite a lot on business.
Almost without fail on each occasion a constable would be checking every car in the carpark for tax, tyres etc. Most cars were staff and official visitors.
Strange way they carry on.
