United Kingdom 2009 Freelander 2 TD4 XS Manual Lago Grey

Oh dear Sad

They'll make LR loads of money, no doubt...

Interesting that, according to this, the Defender replacement isn't due until 2016/17. If the current Defender goes out of production next year what will fill the gap? Not, from the sound of it, the D100: "Style-led urban Land Rover based on the current Evoque"!

I might have to start looking at Japanese 4x4s again.

Interesting that they are planning B$1.8 in Chinese manufacture, I would have thought that India would get a bigger slice, especially at a time when Chinese labour rates are going up and many companies pulling away from China due to rising costs and the stigma in some markets that simply wil not buy chinese made goods, especially brands with a heritage in other countries.

Let's see what sort of spy pictures start to come out, the new Freelander is certainly of interest on here.

I believe the investment in China is due to the fact that China is a huge market for LR, but Chinese import taxes make imported cars very expensive there. If LR manufacture in China the taxes disappear and sales, they hope, soar.

The rumours of the seven seater Freelander have arisen again, a source inside Halewood informs me the seven seater goes into production next year.
