Frightening to see that Pole test though! This is a 5* car with lots of bags, tough cell, etc. imagine how bad older cars are!!!

5* for the occupants but 'predominantly poor' for pedestrians, so be careful what you run into!

Used to think all these side air bags etc. were a sales gimmick - give me a strong body and the occupants will be fine.
These both prove me wrong, and make me happier they are fitted. Without the curtain air bags the driver would have serious head injuries in the side impact.

Thumbs Up Thumbs Up Thumbs Up for the advances in passenger safety in recent years.
Now seriously thinking about a new car for SWMBO. Tangiers Orange - gone, missing her
Replaced by Ewok what a mistake - now a happy Disco Sport owner

Side impacts are alsoore dangerous for your brain. The two hemispheres bounce into each other then apart (brain is split front-rear), which snaps the tiny 'things' which link the two sides - causing permanent damage. In a front/rear smash the two hemispheres move forwards and backwards together thus the tiny 'things' linking the two halves don't get snapped.

Having just driven 310 miles today I'm glad I plod at the limit and ignore twonks, there are lots of suicide-warriors piloting their metal missiles dangerously :-/
